Meet Danielle George-John from Danz Sweet Dreams Cakes, located on the beautiful island of Antigua. Sweet Dreams offers one of a kind cake designs and decorations for various destination weddings.
1. What are the types of decorating services do you offer?
I offer custom designed cakes, fondant, handmade flowers and other various decorations. I do traditionally structured wedding cakes with a modern twist as well as unconventional cakes that allow me and my clients to be more creative. It’s always exciting to create the unexpected.
2. What is your most popular wedding cake flavour selection?
Apart from chocolate and vanilla, my other popular flavours are coconut rum with a chocolate fudge filling, pineapple coconut rum with a coconut filling, and almond amaretto with a cappuccino filling.
3. What makes your company the most unique in Antigua?
I offer more than just a cake. I like to think that I offer more of a conversation piece that will be remembered for years after. I would say that my work is more a piece of art than just a cake.
I like to work closely with my clients in order to get a better idea of what they really want, allowing for the cake to be an integral part of the event whilst making a bold statement.
4. What makes Antigua and Barbuda an ideal destination for romance?
Antigua and Barbuda is the perfect destination for any wedding, large or small, lavish or simple. We truly have the most beautiful beaches and the most breathtaking sunsets, which really make for amazing and memorable pictures for your wedding album. There are lots of different excursions, whether it be a romantic private boat charter, or enjoying the sunset with one of the most famous views of the Caribbean, English Harbour, rocking away to the sweets sounds of steel pan and local bands. We definitely have something for everyone.
5. What is some advice you can give couples when choosing a cake for a destination wedding?
Think outside the box! Let it be a true reflection of your personality. I’ve done something as unconventional as two coconuts sitting in the sand, or even a suitcase with an exotic bouquet of sugar flowers washed up on the beach. But if traditional is your style, I got you covered!
