For the past decade our Issue #7 cover bride Alaina and her husband Aaron have been traveling to the Cayman Islands to enjoy it’s beauty and splendor. While the couple first met each other at American University in Washington D.C. they decided to have their wedding in the Caribbean at Grand Cayman. Alaina’s family has a home in West Bay, which made it easy to go on vacation. Now the Cayman island is a very special place for the couple, making it their second home.
The couple wanted to make their wedding as memorable as can be. Alaina and Aaron had four days of extravagance planned. While the wedding itself was on a Sunday, they arranged various activities before the big day. One of the highlights of the events was the private and catered boat, which they had rented out, to go off to Stingray City and other parts of the island. They also had a great rehearsal dinner at Luca Restaurant, and an opening Friday night Shabbat dinner for all the guests at Alaina’s parents house. An amazing way to welcome everyone.
On Sunday the couple had their wedding at The Westin Beach Resort. With just under 100 guests, it was a beautiful and unforgettable ceremony.
For Alaina the one thing that was the most memorable about the day was the vast creativity of their guests with glow necklaces and photo booth props on the dance floor.
However, for the two it was the culmination of over a decade of being in the Cayman Islands and the entire four days that really stood out for them. They were honored to have so many close family and friends present. All the events far exceeded all their expectations.
One advice that Alaina would like to give to other Caribbean Bride’s is to have customized sunglasses with your wedding hash tag on it. Guests can then have a great souvenir to take home and also have cool shades to enjoy the Caribbean sun.
