Amita and Sandeep from Mississauga, Canada always knew they wanted to get married on the beach. After they went to the Dominican Republic for their first vacation together they instantly knew that was the location for their dream wedding. A destination wedding was perfect for the couple as they also wanted put a modern spin on a traditional wedding ceremony.
The couple had a traditional Gujarati, Hindu ceremony at the Hard Rock Hotel on May 5th. It began with her mother receiving Sandeep and his family at the gazebo and blessing him. The bride then made her entrance to the gazebo where they exchanged garlands and circled the sacred fire (Agni) four times. After completing all of the sacred rituals the guests met the couple on the beach for a group photo.
“We felt like rockstars as we made our way to the reception hall as many of the guests of the hotel were cheering for us as we made our way down the promenade. We entered our reception, enjoyed a beautiful meal and danced with our family and friends that made it from all around the world – #bestweddingever.” remarked Sandeep.
Amita says, “For me the most memorable part of the day was as I approached the aisle, I could see my grooms shadow behind the sacred white cloth and behind him the swaying palm trees and crystal blue ocean – it was the perfect backdrop to the dream ceremony I had always imagined.”
The couple advises to take time to enjoy monumental moments – the ride to your ceremony site, the moment you see your partner, the unique parts of you ceremony and your first walk together as a married couple. Also having the destination wedding experts from AbsoluteWedSite plan their wedding made the process stress free.
Congratulations to Amita and Sandeep!
