Don’t matter how many times I do it I still find it novel that I get on the plane sweating and get off in a whole new world freezing. I have had to trade in my beach shorts for three layers and a beautiful cashmere scarf as I now brave the fury of mother nature. I had the honour of attending my first bat mitzvah last weekend in New York. It was an amazing event celebrating the coming of age of a beautiful girl I knew from a baby. The feeling of community, fellowship and pride were very much the same as at weddings I have attended before. There was a ceremony, there was a gown and a cake and speeches. Any event that brings together families and friends is a beautiful thing.
