Top 10 ways to ensure you have a great Caribbean honeymoon.
Drink plenty of fluids
If you plan to spend a lot of time on the beach you don't want to become dehydrated on your honeymoon. Most of the islands have drinkable tap water but bottled water is also available.
Traveller's cheques
It is safer than travelling with cash and they are widely accepted throughout the Caribbean.
Pack Wisely
When packing place your medication and some of your clothes in your carry on in case your luggage doesn't make it to the destination with you.
Walk with your passport
Only if you plan to do duty-free shopping since most islands require you to present it when making purchases. Otherwise keep it at the hotel.
SPF 30
Don't forget to bring sun screen, using one with a high sun protection factor(SPF) is recommended to avoid major sunburn.
Research
Try to find information on potential hotels. You may prefer not to stay at a family oriented resort during your honeymoon. Or you may prefer a resort that offers all inclusive water sports activities.
Remember the seasons
There are two seasons in the Caribbean: Rainy and Dry. The hurricane season starts in August and ends in October. If possible you may want to avoid vacationing during these months.
Call Ahead
Contact your hotel before arriving to ensure you will be getting all of your desired amenities. e.g. king size bed, beachfront room.
Small Bills
Carry small denominations when walking around, in case you want to buy souvenirs from street vendors.
Relax
Time moves slower in the Caribbean. Your beach chair will arrive.....Just remember you are in paradise.
